I use this activity as a math center. I asked one of our speech therapists, Keri Zadik, who is also a parent of one of my students, if she could make me a caterpillar without a body. She used BoardMaker and created this; I just added the antenna. Next, I copied it on card stock and got Pom-Poms at Dollar Tree. The students colored the background first and then decided on the type of pattern to make (AB, ABC, AABB, etc). Finally, they picked Pom-Poms and attached them with craft glue.
